Boys basketball: Heritage 73, R.A. Long 66

Tim Hergert scored 29 points, including all 13 of Heritage’s points during a key fourth-quarter run, as the Timberwolves won a road game in Longview.

Heritage led 54-46 after three quarters. But the Lumberjacks went on an 8-0 early in the fourth to cut the margin to 56-55. Then Hergert scored the Timberwolves’ next 13 points as Heritage built a 69-61 lead with 1:40 left.

A 3-pointer got R.A. Long within 69-64 then Hergert fouled out with 30 seconds to play, and two Lumberjacks free throws cut it to 69-66.

But David Martin hit to free throws with 20 seconds to go to seal the win.
