Talking Points: Seahawks do it all

What’s the buzz from the world of sports? Here are some items that will have people talking:

1

We’ve all seen games get out of control where one side just rolls up points no matter what the other side does.

That was Sunday at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.

The Arizona Cardinals kept taking the field, and the Seattle Seahawks kept finding new ways to score on them.

We even entertained thoughts that Cardinals’ embattled coach Ken Wisenhunt might get fired mid-game.

Remember back when the Trail Blazers were in hot pursuit of Roy Hibbert? And then the Pacers swooped back in and kept him?

Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports wrote this on Saturday:

Hibbert isn’t averaging double-digits in points but is being paid double digits in millions of dollars this season. Even so, the regressing former All-Star center is confident he will eventually be the NBA’s best at his position.

“People said I wouldn’t be in the NBA,” said Hibbert, the highest-paid Pacer at $13.8 million this season. “People said I wouldn’t be a starting center, this, that and the other. I just prove people wrong. I’m having a slump right now, but in the grand scheme of things I’m going to turn it around and hopefully be the best when it’s all said and done.”

Is it too early to suggest that the Pac-12 Conference men’s basketball season might be a little better than last year’s two-team, one-win NCAA Tournament effort?

The national rankings aren’t there yet (only Arizona was ranked last week), but the conference’s top six teams are a combined 41-7.

False hope or making progress?

You decide.
