I just finished reading “Full Body Burden: Growing Up in the Nuclear Shadow of Rocky Flats,” by Kristen Iversen. It took me an awfully long time because the book is true and scary. It took the author 12 years to finish the book.
On the last page, the last sentence is: “To speak out or to remain silent is the first and most crucial decision we can make.”
On page 342 it says: “Hanford, which housed nine nuclear reactors, is one of the most heavily polluted places on Earth.” There are about 10 pages in the book with a sentence or two factually stating how bad the Hanford Site is in southeastern Washington state.
Hanford has to be handled right; stop damaging the Columbia River or ground water further. Do not let the Department of Energy lie, and do not allow them to bamboozle all of us.
