Girls basketball: La Center 50, Ridgefield 45 (OT)

Katie Whitten and Andrea Griffey hit 3-pointers in overtime to help the visiting Wildcats prevail in a non-league game.

La Center outscored Ridgefield 10-5 in overtime, when the Spudders made several turnovers and missed some key free throws.

A 3-pointer from the Spudders’ Brooke Kates at the end of the fourth quarter forced overtime. Shannon Boyle scored 19 points for Ridgefield (3-3).

Whitten had 21 points, four steals and four assists to lead La Center (4-0). Samantha Wise scored 13 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in the win.
