Girls basketball: Battle Ground 55, Columbia River 31

A big third quarter helped the host Tigers pull away for the non-league win. Battle Ground held Columbia River without a field goal in the third quarter, outscoring the Chieftains 18-4 in the period.

Alena Jarvis and Mallory Olson led a balanced Battle Ground offense with 11 points apiece. Jarvis also had five assists. Haley Hamilton had 10 points and three steals. Jossilyn Blackman had 11 rebounds in the game and scored all nine of her points in the fourth quarter for the Tigers (2-2).

Marion Lilly had 13 points and Kim Lowery scored 10 for Columbia River (2-4).
