Girls basketball: Ridgefield 49, Hudson’s Bay 46

Riley Smetzler hit three 3-point shots to spark a 20-point third quarter that carried the visiting Spudders past the Eagles.

Hudson’s Bay led by three points at halftime, but Ridgefield forged a 12-point lead by the end of the third quarter.

Cami Pickett made two free throws with five seconds left in the game for Ridgefield to push the final margin to three points.

Brooke Kates scored 19 points for the Spudders (3-2), Smetzler finished with 13 points and Shannon Boyle scored 12.

For Hudson’s Bay, Paris Collins had 14 points, six rebounds and five steals. Lynnese Harrell had 13 points, four rebounds and five steals.
