Evergreen Shores — The Vancouver City Council recognized a new neighborhood last month in central Vancouver. The Evergreen Shores Neighborhood Association was made official by the council on Nov. 19. It’s named after a few of the neighborhood’s larger housing complexes, Evergreen Pointe Apartments, Shorewood Manor Apartments, and the Shorewood West and East Condominiums. About 500 households live in Evergreen Shores, which is east of South Blandford Drive between East Evergreen Boulevard and Highway 14. In 1990 the city had 14 recognized neighborhood associations, now there are 66, according to a city press release.
