Girls basketball: Washougal 63, Hudson’s Bay 56

The Panthers used a balanced attack and a pressure defense to get the best of the Eagles.

Megan Sharp, Megan Townsend, and Alyssa Blankenship each had 12 points for Washougal (3-0.) Sharpe had nine rebounds, while Blankenship and Townsend each had eight. Defensively, the three combined for 11 steals.

Bay, led by Lynnese Harrell’s 16 points, had an eigh-point lead at the half.

The Washougal press, though, got the best of the Eagles in the third quarter. Washougal outscored Bay 25-8 to take control.
