Clark County sheriff’s deputies and K-9 responded to an armed robbery Monday evening at Ultimate Tans in Salmon Creek.

At 6:21 p.m., a man went into Ultimate Tans at 13712 N.E. 20th Ave., confronted a female employee and demanded cash from the register, according to a bulletin from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. The man displayed a handgun tucked into his waistband but did not point it at the employee.

The suspect fled on foot with $100 to $150 given to him by the employee, according to emergency radio traffic monitored by The Columbian.

Police set up a perimeter around the business, near Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center, and used the police dog to try to track the suspect.

They did not find the man, who is described as white, thin, approximately 40 years old and 6 feet tall, the bulletin said. He was wearing blue jeans, a black jacket, a green baseball hat and tennis shoes at the time of the robbery.
