Walk and Knock, Clark County’s biggest annual food drive, collected about 264,000 pounds of food on Saturday, organizers said.

Walk and Knock President Roxie Olsen said an additional 4,600 pounds was also collected Sunday in areas that were missed the day before. The event sends thousands of volunteers into neighborhoods across Clark County, going door-to-door to gather food donations. Everything collected benefits the Clark County Food Bank and its many partner organizations.

For those would still like to donate, dozens of collection barrels will remain in place throughout the county until Dec. 10, Olsen said. Drop-off sites include Riverview Bank locations, First Independent Bank branches and Les Schwab tire centers. A full list of drop-off sites is available on the Walk and Knock website.

Residents may also bring food donations directly to the Clark County Food Bank, 6502 N.E. 47th Ave. in Vancouver, Olsen said.

Saturday’s food total was down from recent years, when donations have topped 300,000 pounds.
