Both the Camas and Washougal high school football teams hit the road to begin the 2012 season Friday night, and came home with convincing victories.
The Panthers punished Hudson’s Bay 50-0 at Kiggins Bowl, and kick-started the running clock in the fourth quarter. Stephen Camden bowled into the end zone for four touchdowns.
Bobby Jacobs added a touchdown rush and completed two 2-point conversions. Nate Adams snagged a catch in the end zone from Guy LaRue, and Chase Duey chipped in with a touchdown run. The Panthers intercepted three passes on defense and recovered three fumbles.
Big nights for juniors Nate Beasley, Zach Eagle and Reilly Hennessey propelled the Papermakers to a 63-20 victory at Oregon City High School. In their first starts on varsity, Beasley racked up five touchdowns in the game and Hennessey threw for three. Two of those touchdown catches were made by Eagle.
