Camas native Jimmie Rodgers returns to his hometown for three concerts and a book signing today and Sunday. Rodgers began singing and playing guitar while overseas during the Korean War, and continued to sing in Memphis nightclubs. Rodgers was best known for his late ’50s hit pop songs, including “Honeycomb,” “Kisses Sweeter than Wine” and “Oh-Oh, I’m Falling in Love Again.” Rodgers will be signing his CDs and autobiography at noon on today before his performance.

2. This is ‘Not the Life I Ordered’
Serendipity Players perform the final shows of the original musical premiere of “Not the Life I Ordered.” The musical is the story of two brothers, their struggles and secrets, the power of family and the importance of following dreams. The play is written by Dezy Walls, who will also be performing. This is an adult-themed show with strong language. After the Sunday performance, the public is invited to a free conversation with the playwright, cast and crew about the production.
