Pike was appointed to replace Ann Rivers, R-La Center, who was appointed to the state Senate following Joseph Zarelli’s resignation. Pike will finish Rivers’ House term until a representative selected by voters in the Nov. 6 general election takes the helm in December.
Republicans Adrian Cortes and Brandon Vick are running in the race for Rivers’ former House seat (Position 1). Pike is running for the other 18th District House seat (Position 2) against Democrat David Shehorn.
