So the NFL has sent a memo to its teams to prepare for replacement official to call Week 1.
Could be true. Could be a negotiating ploy.
But honestly, is it going to make that much of a difference to the average fan?
The average fan thinks the real officials are bad anyway.
Every week, there is a crucial call in an NFL game that is scrutinized in the post-game shows and on ESPN and even on the NFL’s own network.
Will there be a blown call in Week 1? Yep.
But there were blown calls last season, too.
If the replacement officials are bad, yet they are bad for both teams, wouldn’t that still be an equal playing field?
In fact, Raider fans probably will embrace the new guys in stripes. If they are going to make bad calls against both teams, well, that would be new to Raider fans.

He survived.
But that makes us wonder. If Tebow threw the ball in a hurricane, would the ball actually go straight?

You might recall the story of the $60 million high school football stadium that was being built. The money came from a vote of the people, proving that in Texas, they do have their priorities in order.
Well, that stadium is opening this season. And the first game appears to be close to a sellout. That’s an 18,000-seat stadium.
Maybe they should have built a 25,000-seat stadium for an extra $10 million or so.
C’mon, Texas. Get your priorities in order!
