CLARK COUNTY — The number of houses sold as foreclosures was a smaller percentage of all home sales in Clark County in the three months ending in June, according to a report issued Wednesday.

California-based RealtyTrac Inc. said 401 completed foreclosure sales countywide in the second quarter were nearly 32 percent lower than the 589 sales in the same period of 2011.

With fewer distressed properties moving through the market, foreclosure sales also began to put upward pressure on local home values. The average sales price was $181,063 for all homes sold as foreclosures in the second quarter in the county, up more than 2 percent from an average of $177,203 in the same period last year.

Foreclosed home sales across the U.S. accounted for 23 percent of all residential sales in the second quarter, up from 22 percent of all sales in the first quarter and up from 19 percent of all sales in the second quarter of 2011. View the report at http://bit.ly/NXFsoM.
