A suspected Vancouver gang member pleaded not guilty Monday to shooting a teenager in the Hough neighborhood earlier this month.

Jeremy S. Pina, 21, was arraigned on charges of first-degree attempted murder.

Trial was set for Oct. 8.

The shooting happened just after midnight Aug. 13 in the 2200 block of Lincoln Avenue. After paramedics arrived on scene, the victim, Nicholas Moline, 18, told them that he was shot by Pina.

Moline was shot at least six times but is expected to survive, authorities said.

According to court documents, the shooting followed an ongoing dispute between Pina and Moline that involved Pina making a threat. Court documents don’t reveal the nature of the dispute.

Pina told an official he is a Norteno gang member.
