Nominations for the Quintessential Woman Award, honoring a local woman who has inspired other women, will be accepted until Sept. 15.
The award will be presented at The Diamond Tea Oct. 13 at the Nines Hotel in downtown Portland, a fundraiser for two local charities that help women.
The award honors women who have realized, remembered or reclaimed their strengths and thus, inspired other women to do the same, according to a news release. The award includes an original hand-painted teacup and saucer by artist Elida Field of Camas.
Tamar Parker of Camas and Nancy Dardis of Portland are previous winners.
Sponsored by Quintessential Productions of Brush Prairie, the Diamond Tea features an English high tea, networking, women-owned business vendors and a presentation by motivational speaker Keri Murphy of Inspired Living. Proceeds of the event benefit Empowering Grace, which provides retreats for women with children who have cancer, and the Vancouver-based AWARE sex trafficking prevention program for middle and high school students.
