Ongoing construction work will squeeze state Highway 14 and cause lane closures at the West Camas Slough Bridge starting next week, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
Crews plan to install a new median barrier on the two-lane bridge. The work will reduce the span to one lane at 8 p.m. both Monday and Tuesday evenings, and continue until 6 a.m. the following mornings.
Starting at 8 p.m. Wednesday, workers will narrow both lanes of the highway. The resulting width restriction means vehicles wider than 10 feet must use an alternate route until the median work is finished in November, according to WSDOT.
The work is part of a $50 million project that will expand Highway 14 and add a new interchange in Camas and Washougal. The project is expected to wrap up in late 2012 or early 2013.
