The deadline is approaching to purchase tickets for a luncheon fundraiser to benefit the Child Abuse Assessment Team at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center.
The Salmon Creek Hospital Foundation is hosting the luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Hilton Vancouver Washington, 301 W. Sixth St.
The deadline to purchase tickets is Aug. 31. Tickets are $35 or $350 for a table of 10. Sponsorships, ranging from $500 to $10,000, are also available. Tickets can be purchased from http://legacyhealth.org/events or by calling Shirley Gross, 360-487-3457.
In 2009, Legacy began performing medical assessments for children who had been sexually abused. In 2011, it expanded the service to children who had been physically abused or suffered from neglect. The program is led by Dr. Kim Copeland, a pediatric emergency medicine physician.
The speakers will include Copeland, Clark County Prosecutor Tony Golik, and Laurie Cornelius, director of children and family services at Clark College.
