A fire damaged the underside of a mobile home Wednesday evening at the Sunrise Acres mobile home park in Orchards.

The fire started underneath a double-wide mobile home around 5:20 p.m. at 6912 N.E. 131st Ave.

Vancouver Fire Department spokesman Kevin Murray said that black plastic that helps control moisture caught on fire. Firefighters put out the fire in less than five minutes and then crawled in the two- to three-foot space under the home to remove the plastic, he said.

The cause of the fire is unknown, although Murray said that probably a plastic waterline got too hot. Crews found a broken waterline near the mobile home.

The names of residents were not available. No one was hurt.
