Clark County Auditor Greg Kimsey certified the results of the Aug. 7 primary Wednesday, completing the ballot count of an election in which Clark County had the lowest turnout in the state.

No significant changes in major races cropped up in the final tally.

Some 72,096 votes, or 30.76 percent of 234,411 registered voters, were tallied.

The results codified the major run-offs that will occur this November. Freshman Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, will defend her seat against Democrat Jon Haugen.

Republican incumbent Marc Boldt will run against Republican David Madore for Clark County Board of Commissioners; Republican incumbent Tom Mielke will face Democrat Joe Tanner.

Voter turnout is expected to be much higher, as Washington chooses, as new governor , either Republican Rob McKenna or Democrat Jay Inslee. The presidential battle between President Obama and challenger Mitt Romney is also set for Nov. 6.
