Vancouver woman killed near Roosevelt

A Vancouver woman died Monday afternoon in a motorcycle accident on state Highway 14, 13 miles east of Roosevelt, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Passenger Gloria A. Edwards, 61, died at the scene, 146 miles east of Vancouver.

Mark George Edwards, 57, of Vancouver was driving his 1982 Honda Goldwing west when his rear tire failed. The motorcycle went onto its right side and came to rest in the eastbound lane. The motorcycle was towing a trailer.

Edwards was ejected from the motorcycle, the state patrol bulletin said.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and transferred to the Columbia Hills Funeral Home. Mark Edwards was transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland with a broken scapula and several broken ribs.

Damage to the motorcycle was estimated at $500. The accident is under investigation.
