Police Wednesday identified the man injured when his motorcycle crashed into an SUV Tuesday night near the Port of Vancouver as Eric Fisher, 22, of Vancouver.

Around 8 p.m. Tuesday, Fisher was riding his motorcycle at 3309 N.W. Lower River Road at a high speed, crossed the center lane and laid the bike down to avoid hitting another car head-on, said police spokeswoman Kim Kapp.

The other vehicle, a Jeep Liberty driven by Krisit Niell, 22, of Vancouver, went over the bike but did not hit Fisher, Kapp said.

Fisher was sent to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center with a broken hand and abrasions to his entire body. He was listed in satisfactory condition at Southwest Wednesday morning, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The driver of the Jeep was not injured.

Fisher was cited for third-degree driving while suspended.
