Rick Browne, 65, of Ridgefield, successfully prepared an entree of pork butt, baked beans, clams and strawberry fruit leather in the fourth episode of “Chopped: Grill Masters” on the Food Network, but was chopped after failing to offer a grilled dessert.
Browne was one of four celebrity chefs who participated in the episode, which aired Sunday.
The Grill Masters tournament finale, with the winners of each of four episodes, airs at 9 p.m. Aug. 19. The show is known for asking top chefs to prepare dishes on the spot using discordant ingredients.
The judges praised the dessert, which had to include plantains and tofu, but panned the fact Browne didn’t grill any of it.
