A portion of Padden Parkway will be closed next week in both directions so 1.7 miles can be repaved.
The closure is scheduled from 7 p.m. Aug. 23 until 6 a.m. Aug. 28.
Contractor Knife River plans to run 24-hour shifts to complete the work from Northeast 94th Avenue east to Northeast 117th Avenue, according to a press release from Clark County Public Works.
More than 8,600 tons of hot mix asphalt will be used to reinforce the existing pavement. The project also will include drainage improvements.
“This is a major project that we want to get done as quickly and as safely as possible,” said Linda Small, pavement preservation manager. “We appreciate public understanding and cooperation in doing what is necessary to preserve the taxpayers’ investment in roads and other infrastructure.”
Signs will guide motorists to detours.
