A pregnant driver and two young children were transported to a hospital after their vehicle went off the road into a ravine in Brush Prairie near Alderbrook Park on Friday night.

Just after 7 p.m., Fire District 3 arrived at 24414 N.E. Westerholm Road where a single vehicle was about 75 feet down into the ravine, on its side.

The driver was still in the vehicle and unable to get herself out. Bystanders had gotten 3- and 5-year-old children out of the vehicle.

Firefighters removed the rear window and part of the top of the vehicle to get to the woman. Once out of the car, she was put into a stokes basket and hauled up the steep embankment using a rope pulley system.

All occupants were transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center by two ambulances. Their names and conditions were not available Friday night.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office helped direct traffic.
