St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church’s winter hospitality overflow shelter is a finalist in a national contest to win a $10,000 makeover from Waverly.

Deb Burlingame, who has volunteered at the overflow homeless shelter for a decade, registered the church for Waverly’s “Paint for a Purpose” initiative in collaboration with Lowe’s. Burlingame’s project has been named one of five finalists of the hundreds that entered.

Vote on Facebook by Monday at 11:59 p.m. to help St. Andrew’s win the makeover. The church is located at 5607 N.E. Gher Road.

How to vote:

On the Internet visit http://on.fb.me/QxEDUE.

Click on the “Paint for a Purpose” icon and click through the photos until you see the mom with the daughter in the hospitality room. “Like” it. (Or “Like” a different project, if you prefer.) The project with the most votes at midnight on Monday wins.
