OK, finally for those of you who like hot weather, this weekend is for you. The rest of us will stay in the shade or inside with the AC. Forecast models indicate hot weather into the 90s for the first time this year but it will be short-lived, as we return to the 80s Monday.
Earlier in the week it was iffy surpassing 90 degrees but I will jump on the bandwagon with other forecasters and enjoy the ride. If you want some relief, head for the ocean beaches, where it will be on the cool side. If you venture just slightly inland from the beach it will be very warm.
Today we see one more weak weather system pass by to our north but with enough strength to increase the marine layer and cause some drizzle or even a stray shower to the coast. Inland, we could see some mist or drizzle or maybe a sprinkle here and there. Things will dry and warm very quickly Friday.
I am collecting the rainfall for July from around the region but amounts appear to be quite light. I will share a sampling of these in a few days.
