I-5 ramp closures planned for Salmon Creek area

Ongoing construction in the Salmon Creek area will close the northbound Interstate 5 onramp from Northeast 134th Street for three nights this week.

The ramp will close at 11 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. It will re-open by 5 a.m. the following mornings. The closures will allow crews to install noise walls along the freeway just north of the ramp.

The work is part of the $133 million Salmon Creek Interchange Project, which will rebuild the northern convergence of I-5 and Interstate 205. The entire four-stage project is expected to be finished in 2014.

During this week’s ramp closures, drivers can access northbound I-5 from either Northeast 99th or 179th streets.
