A dump truck driver had minor injuries after his rig went off the road Monday on state Highway 502 and flipped on its side.
The truck went off Highway 502, also known as 219th Street, near its intersection with Northeast 50th Avenue just after 1 p.m., said Battalion Chief Tim Dawdy, spokesman for Clark County Fire & Rescue.
The dump truck driver, Robert Kyle, 59, of Brush Prairie, didn’t see a car waiting to turn left onto 50th Avenue, went around it, rolled and spilled a load of sand, said Trooper Ryan Tanner, a state patrol spokesman.
The truck was the only vehicle involved in the crash. Kyle had minor injuries but was put on a backboard and sent to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center because the vehicle flipped, Dawdy said.
