A seven-week training course for Vancouver neighborhood tree-huggers is set for Tuesdays, May 8 through June 19. Vancouver Urban Forestry is accepting applications for the volunteer NeighborWoods program.

NeighborWoods tree stewards get free training from arboricultural experts on tree identification, tree biology, proper pruning, local tree regulations, healthy landscapes and other tree topics. Stewards lead volunteer tree projects and provide tree education in their own neighborhoods.

Space is limited and registration by May 7 is required. Visit cityofvancouver.us/urbanforestry and click on “NeighborWoods” to learn more. Or call 360-487-8308.
