Vancouver private attorney Josephine Townsend said Friday she plans to run against Clark County Superior Court Judge Diane Woolard in this year’s election.
Townsend earlier submitted paperwork with the Public Disclosure Commission, saying she wanted to run against Greg Gonzales, who was appointed this week to another position on the Superior Court bench.
She changed her mind, according to an email sent to The Columbian, and she amended her paperwork with the commission to reflect her new candidacy.
Townsend is Vancouver’s former city prosecutor who stepped down in 2005 following irreconcilable differences with her boss. She was passed over by the governor this week to succeed Superior Court Judge Edwin Poyfair, who is stepping down at the end of the month. His successor, Gonzales, will be sworn in May 4.
