The Woodland School District has received a $336,536 grant designed to generate energy cost savings, district officials said.
The state Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction awarded the school district a preliminary 2011-2013 Energy Operational Cost Saving Grant.
Woodland is among 42 school districts implementing infrastructure and building improvements to reduce energy costs. In Woodland’s case, the changes will save thousands of dollars in operational costs, Superintendent Michael Green said.
Districts must keep the project moving ahead and will receive the grant once a contract for design and construction services is executed with a contractor.
