Gourmet soups, artisan soup-bowl keepsakes and an award for great volunteerism are all in store at the 11th annual Share-A-Bowl dinner.

Share Inc., the local provider of services to the hungry and homeless, will be the beneficiary of the event. It’s set for 5 p.m. Sunday, April 22, at Skyview High School, 1300 N.W. 139th St.

Share Executive Director Diane McWithey said four local artists have handcrafted bowls for each person to take home as a keepsake. Soups include cannelini bean with spicy sausage tramezzino, cajun gumbo and carrot ginger soup.

The evening’s program also will include presentation of the 2012 Emily Marshall Volunteer of the Year award. This year’s nominees are Jillian Provience; First United Methodist Church; Steve and Vicki Heil; and Hailee Hillard.

The price is $40 for adults, $15 for children ages 5 through 12 and free for children younger than 5. A table for eight can be reserved for $290. Visit sharevancouver.org or call 360-695-7658, ext. 3301. Attendees are asked to bring nonperishable items to enter the door prize drawing; they’ll get one ticket per food item.
