Public historian and archivist Richard H. Engeman will conduct a two-hour workshop Saturday on “making your family photographs last longer than you do.”
The session will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Clark County Historical Museum, 1511 Main St.
People with valued prints, negatives, albums, tintypes and daguerreotypes will be able to get advice on how to preserve them for the long term. They also will learn where to look for expertise and supplies, how to know when it’s best to leave a bad photo alone, and how to know when a bad photo can be made better.
Engeman will discuss the care, handling, and storage of historic photographs; scanning as a preservation tool; and ways to share and use your photographs while preserving the original images.
The workshop is limited to 15 participants; cost is $20 and reservations are required. Call the museum at 360-993-5679.
