• Scott Beard has been promoted to the position of executive vice president, director of health care banking for Pacific Continental Bank. Beard will continue to work the branch in Vancouver.
• Nate Brantley and Christopher Nickel, who work together as The Brantley Group, have joined the Vancouver office of Hasson Company Realtors. Brantley is a 10-year Vancouver resident. Nickel, a Washington native, has a background in sales and technology. The Brantley Group specializes in foreclosure sales, investment properties and new buyers.
• Skamania Lodge has hired Todd Gillespie as director of sales and marketing. Gillespie has more than 20 years of hotel and resort marketing and sales experience. Previously, he led group sales efforts at several properties in West Virginia, including Waterfront Place Hotel, The Greenbrier, Stonewall Resort and Glade Springs Resort.
• Carole Mackewich, a Clark College professor and counselor, has received the 2012 Esther Matthews Award from the Oregon Career Development Association. The award honors an individual demonstrating leadership, scholarship and professional commitment to the career development field.
• Ben Moore has been promoted to research manager for Vancouver-based DiscoverOrg’s newest product, a database of information technology professionals in small to mid-sized companies. Moore started with DiscoverOrg in October 2010 as a mid-market research analyst. He studied psychology at Portland State University.

• The Vancouver graphic design firm Deane’s Graphics is changing hands after more than 30 years, with the retirement of founders John and Debbie Deane. The firm’s new owners are Felida residents Chris and Kiki Bittner. Chris Bittner took his first design job at Deane’s Graphics in 1992 and worked for the company over the years while helping to build the Vancouver start up, BLT Technologies, which eventually became part of Verizon Business. Kiki Bittner recently sold a company that produces live competitive events and will work at Deane’s in brand imaging, advertising, marketing and event planning.
• Sit and Stay! Pet Services and is celebrating its 10-year anniversary. Colleen Coy started the Vancouver-based firm in 2002. She offers services for dogs, cats, hamsters, exotic birds, chickens and farm animals.
