A Long Beach woman was released after the hospital after a rollover crash on state Highway 14 late Thursday, April 5.

Shawntae Barnett, 30, rolled a 2005 Ford Explorer against a tree on Highway 14 just west of Southeast 164th Avenue around 8:40 p.m., said Trooper Ryan Tanner, a state patrol spokesman.

The Vancouver Fire Department responded and found the car off the freeway and on its side. A local emergency room physician was inside the car holding the woman’s neck stable, said Kevin Stromberg, department spokesman.

Firefighters placed three adjustable struts to hold the car stable, then lifted Barnett in a head brace from the car.

Barnett was taken by AMR ambulance to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. She was treated and released, hospital spokesman Ken Cole said Friday morning.
