Student’s efforts raise $649 for Humane Society

Bennington — Shahala Middle School student Zoe Plieth went over the top to earn points in Tracie Johnson’s leadership class. The sixth-grader held a fundraiser and silent auction to benefit the Humane Society for Southwest Washington. Zoe secured auction items, made cupcakes and sent out invitations. When the night was over, she had raised $649. Johnson said Zoe went above and beyond with her project.
