Sophomore’s photo earns art award

Fisher’s Landing — Lillie Meyer, a sophomore at St. Mary’s Academy in Portland, has earned a 2012 National Scholastic Art Award for her black-and-white photo of old bicycles. She took the photo with her iPhone on a family trip to Austria. Meyer’s photo will be among 300 pieces of artwork by national award winners recognized during a celebration at Carnegie Hall on June 1 and displayed in an exhibition in New York City that month.
