Five Corners — Fifteen local landscaping companies brought together 31 volunteers to install three landscapes at Patten Park, the Habitat for Humanity development at the end of Northeast 98th Avenue. Topsoil, sod, hydroseed and plants were all donated by member businesses of the Washington Association of Landscaping Professionals and installed March 24. “It was an emotional and rewarding experience for all of us,” said Sue Fox of the Southwest chapter of WALP. Fox’s son was a volunteer builder at the site last year, and he came to his mom and asked for WALP’s help on one home. The group decided to do three instead.
