Volunteers are needed to help out with the Hockinson High School grad night.

Hockinson’s graduation ceremony will be at 7 p.m. June 8 at the high school, said Jennifer Teegardin, an organizer of grad night.

As they have for the last six years, volunteers will put on a party for the graduates immediately following the school ceremony. The party is part of a national effort to curb traffic accidents by teens on graduation night.

The graduates will be ferried by bus from the high school to a yet-undisclosed location. The party will begin at about 9:30 p.m. and last all night. Graduates are bused back to the school at 6 a.m., where they can be picked up by parents.

The group organizing grad night is looking for more volunteers. Helpers are needed to raise money and assemble gift baskets before June 8. Volunteers also can chip in on graduation day, by decorating the hall and preparing breakfast for the seniors.
