Columbia River teens say no to violence

West Hazel Dell — During the week of March 19, Columbia River High School participated in Teen Violence Prevention Week, and more than 250 students pledged to make their school a safer place. Activities included hosting a Violence Awareness booth during school lunches, writing pledges about what students can do to prevent violence and staging a mock dispute during lunches to gain the attention of students. Fred Neiman Jr., a Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputy and the school’s resource officer, spoke to more than 100 students in the classroom about domestic violence in the community.
