A Roseburg, Ore., man was in satisfactory condition Sunday night at a local hospital after being injured in a two-car crash north of Battle Ground.

Jerald O. Jordan, 69, was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. He was a passenger in a car driven by Wallace W. Barney, 63, of Yacolt, the Washington State Patrol reported. The accident happened at 8:40 a.m. Sunday, April 1.

The patrol said Anthony S. Hodgson, 43, of Salem, Ore., was driving a 2008 Toyota SUV westbound on Northeast Rock Creek Road when he failed to stop at state Highway 503 and collided with the 2000 Ford pickup that Barney was driving southbound on the highway.

The SUV struck the passenger’s side door, the patrol said. Hodgson’s SUV also hit a light standard, the patrol said.

Both vehicles were totaled, the report said.

The report said Hodgson was not injured.

Barney was taken to PeaceHealth, where he was treated and released.

Hodgson was cited for failure to yield.
