Fort Vancouver continues to struggle in fifth game of the season.
The Trappers (0-5) lost to the visiting Kelso Highlanders 41-6, at Kiggins Bowl Friday night.
The highlight of the night for Fort Vancouver came in the final two minutes of the game. Running back Jose Johnson got the ball for the first time this season and sliced and diced his way through the Kelso defense for a 33-yard touchdown run.
“We might just have to get the ball to that kid more often,” coach Eric Ollikainen. “He ran hard, his legs were shifting and he bounced around nicely. He looked really good.”
As far as the other Trappers, Jordan Vela led the team with seven carries for 74 yards while teammate Isaiah Miller caught two passes for 51 yards.
