The Battle Ground school board on Monday unanimously approved two contracts for the 2011-12 academic year, one with the teachers union and one for district administrators, including principals and assistant principals.

Board members Steve Pagel, John Idsinga, Monty Anderson and Ken Root attended the Monday morning meeting at the district office; board member Mavis Nickels participated by speaker phone from out of town.

The contracts reflect the pay cuts that were approved on Aug. 29 by the board as part of the 2011-12 district budget. Details of the teachers’ contract have been distributed to employees in The BGEA Advocate, the newsletter of the Battle Ground Education Association.

The next meeting of the Battle Ground school board will be Oct. 10, at the former Lewisville Middle School with a 3 p.m. work session and a 4:30 p.m. regular meeting.
