Salmon angling is past its peak in the lower Columbia River, but there still are fall chinook to catch upstream of Woodland. Just don’t look for fishing to be getting better.
Buoy 10 is yielding some coho, but the estuary is a long way to trailer a boat for a day.
Soon fishing in the lower river will concentrate in two locations — near the mouth of the Cowlitz and at the west end of Lady Island — the best spots for coho upstream of the estuary.
Walleye anglers are doing fair in the Washougal area.
Swift Reservoir is producing trout. Four boaters queried on Saturday had 16 rainbows and four landlocked coho.
