• Vancouver physician Dr. Douglas R. Myers was elected president of the Washington State Medical Association on Sept. 11 during the group’s annual meeting in Spokane. The association represents more than 9,800 physicians, residents, medical students and physician’s assistants throughout the state. Meyers is an otolaryngologist licensed to practice in Washington and Oregon. He is on the medical staff of Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center and serves on several local boards and committees.
• Mary Meyers recently attended Focus 11, a leading financial services industry conference. The conference was hosted by LPL Financial, a wholly owned subsidiary of LPL Investment Holdings Inc., which is an independent broker-dealer. Meyers is a financial advisor and owner of Threshold Inc.
• nLight Corporation has hired Manoj Kanskar as vice president of advanced technology. Kanskar most recently served as vice president of research and development at Alfalight, Inc. He holds five patents and has more than 40 published industry papers.
• Six individuals have received the Professional Finance Officer awards for 2011 from the Washington Finance Officers Association, an organization of finance officers from towns, cities, counties and other governmental units within the state of Washington. Award winners: Ken Andrews, finance director, Clark Regional Wastewater District; Tatyana Bogush-Stakhov, senior management analyst, Clark County District Court; Tamara Dinius, finance and HR manager, East County Fire & Rescue; Sandra Hall, senior management analyst, Clark County; Denise Pearce, finance supervisor, Clark Regional Wastewater District; and Kathleen Streissguth, finance manager, Clark County Fire & Rescue.
