Clark County’s inventory of homes listed for sale declined to a 6.5-month supply in August, down from 7.3 months in July, according to Portland-based RMLS.

Year-over-year, August listings were down dramatically from an 11.9-month supply of houses for sale in August 2010. The number means it would take 6.5 months to sell the 3,078 houses listed for sale countywide if no new inventory was added.

The RMLS reported 473 sales closed in August, up from 322 closed sales the same month last year. According to the RMLS, the median sales price — half sold for more, half for less — was $185,000 for houses sold in Clark County in August, down 13.3 percent from $213,400 the same month last year.
