Three touchdowns in just more than a minute late in the third quarter launched the Timberwolves to a comfortable win over the Monarchs at McKenzie Stadium.
Heritage nursed a 15-6 lead before the decisive outburst. It started with a 4-yard run by quarterback Joseph Cooper with 2:01 left in the third quarter. Michael Quintana then returned a pass interception 42 yards for the fourth Heritage touchdown of the game. Mark Morris fumbled on the ensuing kickoff, and Gage Boyce ran 35 yards for the third Heritage touchdown in a span of 1:06.
The Timberwolves scored two defensive touchdowns, starting with a 4-yard fumble return in the first quarter by Houston Dillard.
Sophomore E’lon Mack caught a 24-yard touchdown from Cooper in the second quarter.
Boyce led the Timberwolves with 85 yards on the ground, and Cooper completed 9 of 17 passes for 165 yards.
