CHS to sponsor college and career options event

The fourth annual “College and Career Options” will be held at Camas High School, 26900 S.E. 15th St., at 5 p.m. Monday, in the gym.

It includes representatives from two- and four-year colleges, the military and career/technical programs.

The evening is designed to allow time for students to gather information, attend mini seminars on topics such as writing a college admissions essay, SAT/ACT differences, college planning and fiscal responsibility. The evening will end with break-out sessions where students can get information and speak to representatives and cover topics such as admissions, financial aid and costs of attendance, plus areas of study.

The event is free to all students and residents in the Camas and Washougal communities.

JMS book fair coming Nov. 1

Jemtegaard Middle School is hosting a book fair today through Friday, from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.

On Thursday, which is family night, the book fair is open until 7:30 p.m.

There will be poster giveaways on family night and all proceeds go to JMS Library, 35300 S.E. Evergreen Blvd., where the fair will be held.
